I want to track serial numbers and several other items, but I don’t see any place to put them.
AssetEL is a highly customizable program. You can create up to 20 additional fields at the asset level for any data you need to track. Just create an Attribute for each and give it an appropriate name.
Can I create a drop down list for Attributes?
Yes, you can create a custom drop down list for each of the Attributes. If you choose to verify the Attribute, AssetEL will limit data entry to the items in the list.
How do I get help?
AssetEL has three layers of support. First is the comprehensive built in Help System; second is a User’s Manual that was provided in PDF format; and third you can call Asset Systems’ Technical Support Area (support fees may apply).
I deleted an asset and now I don’t see it in my Asset Group View. Did I lose all my information about that asset?
No, all of the information is maintained by AssetEL. You can view the data by running the appropriate History Reports.
I want to “tag” my assets for easier identification. Does AssetEL support barcodes?
Yes, using a wedge reader you can read a barcode and input that information directly into a field in the database. Many of the table reports include the option to display barcodes so the data can be scanned rather than manually entered. Using a laptop allows the entire application to become portable.
What if I need to track more than one thousand assets?
AssetEL can be upgraded to any of the versions of AssetWIN, including the Enterprise Version with a SQL database and most important, all of your data can be upgraded too.
Do I need to fill in all of the fields?
No, AssetEL is very adaptable to almost any need. Many of the fields can be left blank if you do not need to track that particular piece of information. The Users’ Manual tells which fields are required, but so will the program. If a field is required AssetEL will not let you save or update a record without filling in all required fields. AssetEL will tell you which field or fields you need to complete to save the record. AssetEL has been designed to be easy to use and to protect the user from inadvertent data loss.
Can I modify a standard report?
There are two ways to modify standard reports. First, from within AssetEL you can use the Wizard to create queries to display different ranges of data. Second, any AssetEL report can be exported in a number of different formats. For example, you could export the Column Asset Report into Excel and use the full range of Excel features to modify the report.
I need to move all of the assets located in one office to another. Do I need to change each one?
No, Asset EL supports global changes of assets in mass or in specified subsets.
Can AssetEL be installed on my network?
Yes. Either the data, the Asset EL program, or both can be operated from any network supporting Windows applications.
Which fields in the database are searchable?
Every field in AssetEL is searchable and the majority of fields can be used for sorting. |
