ASSET SYSTEMS, INC. ANNOUNCES DATACAP WIFI
NAPERVILLE, ILLINOIS, (January 19, 2006) – Asset Systems, Inc., the country’s foremost supplier of asset management software, announced the release of DataCAP WIFI on January 19, 2006. This new product redefines the data collection of asset related information for tracking and management. It is complementary to DataCAP Classic, which features the traditional batch approach to data collection.
DataCAP WIFI operates on Microsoft’s Pocket PC operating system using standard 802.11 WIFI network for communication. It was developed using Microsoft’s Visual Studio 2003. WIFI DataCAP utilizes the .NET Compact Frameword on the WIFI reader and the .NET Framework version 1.1 on the WIFI Server/Host. All traditional transactions – add, delete, relocate – are supported along with real time inquiry of assets directly from the host. In keeping with established DataCAP standards, the prompting sequence can be defined and the operator may add user defined data directly from the unit via scanning or key-entry. The portable program stores default information and guides the operator through a simple and easy to understand interface. In keeping with AssetWIN standards, all data is rigorously verified before inclusion in the database.
Initially, the product will be available on Compsee’s Mobil Application Terminal (MAT) 204 collection equipment. As with all DataCAP compatible equipment, it features a full function keyboard, an easy to read screen and industrial strength durability. An optional imager allows the capture and transmission of asset photos during the inventory process.
